WHAT IS REIKI:
Reiki is a Japanese Healing Technique. Rei (Ray) means DIVINE WISDOM and Ki (Key) means UNIVERSAL LIFE FORCE. It helps the receiver to gravitate towards their individual harmony of mind, body and spirit. Reiki helps to reduce stress and promote relaxation throughout the body while improving the body's natural ability to heal itself. It also empowers your spirit to shine through by peeling back the layers of illusion, programming, trauma and fear. Reiki fills your being with heightened love and light, enabling you to be guided to ways to overcome obstacles, patterns and blockages.
HOW DO I RECEIVE THE REIKI ENERGY:
During a reiki session the practitioner is a conduit between source energy and the receiver. There is no work to do on your part, all you have to do is BE! The energy is channeled through practitioner to/into receiver via "laying of hands", hovering of hands within the auric field and/or via distant transmission, as energy knows no bounds.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION:
During the session the receiver may experience: heat, pulsing, tingling, sensations moving through body, deep states of peace/relaxation, sleep states, colors, visualizations, memories, scents and more. Depending on the openness of the receiver and/or current station in life/healing; the receiver may not "feel" or "see" anything and THIS IS PERFECTLY OK! The reiki is still flowing and the benefits are still being received!
I have been gifted the ability to, most often times, receive messages, notes or guidances for the receiver. These messages may have no meaning to me, but usually resonate with the receiver. There are also times when the notes don't make immediate sense, but show themselves in the coming days OR they become clear once a past memory/thought is brought back to light.
When going into a session, setting a light intention could assist in getting a message. However, INTENSE wanting of answers and results steer them away from us both. Whatever shall be, shall be. So go gently and be soft. It is ok if there is no message received. The reiki still did its work and you still received its HIGHEST GOOD.
WHO IS REIKI FOR:
Reiki is for EVERYONE (including those that are pregnant, babies and animals). You do not have to be ill, or currently in a stress crisis. Regular treatments can enhance your response to normal life events and should be seen as great preventative care as well as self care. Reiki should be viewed much like you would view getting you nails, hair and spa treatment done regularly. So do not wait to be in pain, sick and severely stressed to start your reiki treatments.
PREPPING FOR A REIKI SESSION:
Be sure to allow yourself about 30 mins prior to your session time to wind down and release the day's events. Leading up to your session day, it is best to eat and hydrate well as to make yourself the best conductor of the energy that will be flowing. The less dense you are, the better the experience. This means, best results will be had if you refrain from high fat, processed sugar, salt, alcohol, stimulants/caffeine and meat 12-24 hours prior to service. Be well hydrated. Increase your H2O, coconut water and/or fresh fruit/veggies juice intake. Also dress comfortably so that you can relax fully.
SESSION AFTERCARE:
After session care is best handled in much the same way as you did before your session... "Come back" to yourself gently and slowly. Giving yourself time to integrate and even reflect/journal. Still taking in lots of fluids and eating well. Note the days following your session are important as you may have shifts within your body, mind and spirit as things work together to balance/heal. Also, be mindful of synchronicities that may be guidances for your journey. Give yourself and those around you a little extra grace during this time as you may also experience heightened emotions/sensitivities.
